What happened when she finally gave up dieting ✌ What happened when she finally gave up dieting ✌️🙌💪

Ever had the experience of starting out on a new meal plan or diet, feeling really psyched and hopeful? Thinking this will finally be the thing that works, and puts me in control around food, and solves all my problems!

… Only, it doesn’t end up working quite like you thought it would. In some cases, it just makes you feel more crazy and out of control around food. And now you’re pissed because you threw more money at this issue, you’re snapping at your family because you’re in a shitty mood, and find yourself eating the entire bag of chips that definitely isn’t ‘plan-approved’ after everyone goes to bed.

Sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone. That was the case for our client, Adrienne, who came to us feeling frustrated after trying everything to get a hold of her binging and still coming up short.

We chatted with her on the pod all about what happened when she finally let go of the restriction and committed to making peace with food.

Listen into this convo at the link in our bio or wherever you get your pods! 🎙
We’ve got a new pod for ya friends, and we’re We’ve got a new pod for ya friends, and we’re digging into one of our favorite topics around here: intuition.

It was a key part of the (cringe) ~journey~ for our wonderful guest, Angel Simone, who went through a major transition a few years ago. As a gay, black, female, Angel has had to navigate some obstacles on the way to discovering her true potential, and we explore many of them in this conversation.

She’s full of insights when it comes to building self trust and being guided by intuition, because she has had to lean into both to get through some very difficult moments.

In this episode we discuss:

• Angel’s story: becoming a pastor and what happened when she came out to the church

• Defining “success” and making the decision to give it up in order to be yourself and be happy

• How Angel began trusting her intuition and shifting her perception of God and love

• The uncomfortable, messy work that can come with personal growth, and choosing that over staying stuck or avoiding it out of fear

• The advice she would give to her former self or anyone going through a transition in life

• And much more

Tune in at the link in our bio to hear from Angel, and as always let us know what you think!
The New Year is upon us and with that comes the on The New Year is upon us and with that comes the onslaught of diet culture messaging based on the myth that thinness offers salvation.
.
We learn this myth through our culture. We're taught that if we change our bodies, we will be happier, more successful, deserving of acceptance and love and safety and all the good things in life.
.
This myth is really attractive because when we feel negative emotions that we don't want to feel, we think we can fix them through dieting.
.
Because if not being small enough is the REAL problem, then the solution, we think, is SIMPLE. Diet. Lose weight. Become thin, happy, successful and rich.
.
The truth we all know deep down though, is that life is really hard and uncertain and the answers to the things that bother us are not simple. And we also know deep down that dieting doesn't work.
.
And so we find ourselves in a pickle where the entire world is shouting at us to lose weight to be happy but, none of it is working.
.
The first step to getting out of said pickle is to just recognize that the myth is there. That we truly believe deep down that if we were just thinner, life would be better. Acknowledge that this has been a driving force in a lot of our behavior and get curious about whether or not we actually believe it to be true.
